About Me

I come from a family of artisans. The men create jewels such as earrings and bracelets, necklaces, rings, .. and the women make products in leather and skin such as pockets for mobile phones, belts, purses.
I am a jeweler at the Musée National of Niamey. I live in Niamey and I went to school till primary level. I have decided to start my business to be able to pay the expenses of my family and my parents, more precisely my father, my mother , my 2 sisters and 4 brothers. I count on buying silver with the loan if it's accorded and with this silver metal I will make silver jewels that I will sell at an affordable price.

My Business

Our business is the popular Musée National du Niger. We create jewels in silver, animals in bronze. At the museum you can also find products in leather such as shoes, satchels, poofs, belts, baskets, ...There are also weaver who make carpets and other artists who create batiks with real beautiful designs of wild animals such as lions, elephants, and even African women. There is a demand for our products because the museum is a place to be in Niamey, because of all the artisans and because of the animals you can see there: lions, monkeys, hippopotamus, crocodiles, wild pigs, ... Clients prefer our business because the museum is very popular because of his artists and his animals and that's why our business is profitable. The monthly costs and revenues are variable depending on the period of the year but the benefits are huge.

Loan Proposal

With the money of this loan I will buy raw material which is silver metal and I will also pay the costs of using the machine in the Musée National and the other tools and materials that I need to create my jewels. The jewels that I will produce will be transported to international fairs in Japan and France. This loan will allow me to have my own stock of jewels.

    Hello Lenders,
Like many of our borrowers from time to time, Monsieur Galiou has run into some financial difficulty with his business. He is currently having difficulty meeting his repayments; we are working with him, and his local mentor, to help solve these. As of now, the best solution for Monsieur Galiou is that we reschedule some of his repayment dates. We will keep you updated on this.

    Thank you for your understanding,
    Ashlee

    Dear lenders,
My name is Mien, I am Client Relationship Manager for Zidisha in West-Africa. You may have been wondering why this loan, that has been fully financed since a while and also has been accepted by the borrower, has not been disbursed yet. Since one month we have been negotiating with our partner bank in Niger about free disbursement of our loans. The bank has charged us 11900 FCFA (23,60 USD) for each of the first disbursements we did in Niger. It is clear that Zidisha can't accept such fees and we don't want our borrowers to pay them either. Negotiations go on and may result in the decision to start a partnership with a new bank in Niger. We hope to find a solution during the next few days, in order to disburse this and all the other loans in Niger, and in order to guarantee the future development of our Niger program.
Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.
