About Me

I am of Senegalese nationality, I am 37 years old, I live in Dakar, my name is Djibril Pouye, autonomous retailer at Dakar Avenue Djily Mbaye (Alize Market). I sell cell phones of different varieties, second hand (used) laptops...etc. to help my family in particular myself, since I have become older, I want to develop my business, especially in the retail of new model iphones which are in great demand in Senegal, and with Black Berry phones which could allow me to collect a lot of profit finally enabling the import of cell phones for all budgets since Chinese cell phones are in strong demand.

My Business

Indeed, the retail of telephones and laptops in Senegal is a very profitable activity. But considering that my means are limited, it came to me to take out a loan so I can buy merchandise. I continued in the formal structures like selling them to the bureaucrat, to the official who at the end of the month pays me. As for possible credit that I had acquired somewhere and have finished? I want to confirm to you that I had had a loan of 700,000 F CFA [$1,540] with the NGO Jade Senegal that I then fully reimbursed over 18 months.

Loan Proposal

I have a new business, and I would like to sell computers and mobile phones (Blackberry, Nokia, Samsung etc.).

    Merci Djiby Pouye

    good evening
[Hello] lenders, I am writing to submit a case, I repay the loans properly, but this time around I'm in trouble with my business because the market is very tight. I wish to change my schedule to lighten my load a bit. However, and if things go well I would start to pay as before.
    Thank you to all
    Djibril Pouye

    Bonsoir

I changed my repayment schedule, because it is very difficult to pay 50,000 FCFA. This is due to the living expenses in Senegal and especially the strong competition.

Please excuse me, and I will pay every penny of this loan, as with my first loan.

    ...

    Greetings,

I'm writing to update you on the use of the second loan I received. I continue running my business (telephone product sales), and it is going OK, given the intense competition on this market and the high living costs.

I would like to make you aware of the fact that I have made my first repayment at the bank to pay you back.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Parfois dans la vie on passe par des moments dificiles. Il ne faut surtout pas perdre espoir. J ai confiance que tout va bien aller et que votre entreprise ira beaucoup mieux. Hi, I am changing my schedule of payments because I am encountering major difficulties mostly because of competitors. My business is extremely slow. That is the reason why I am trying to extend my monthly payments. From now on I would like to reimburse 20.000FCFA monthly.
I am waiting for your feedback on this situation.

    Dear Lenders,

My name is Sam Gant and I'm currently one of the Client Relationship Managers working here in Dakar, Senegal. Today I got to meet with Djiby, an extremely enterprising young man who took time out of his hectic workday in Dakar's bustling Alize market to meet with me at his home in Parcelles. Djiby has recently expanded the products of his mobile business to include different perfumes, such as Lacoste, Black XS, and Allure, which e buys in bulk at Sandaga market for 1000 CFA per bottle and sells to his customers for a 50% markup. Often clients will request specific products that he will find for them, but following his partnership with Zidisha Djiby is able to do more business by having a wider range of stock on hand.

Djiby lives on thin margins, paying an average of 3000 CFA per day on food and transport, in addition to the 25,000 per month he pays for housing-- meanwhile, he earns 5000 CFA on the average day. He is very committed to his family, and turns over part of his money to them to help his brother continue his education. He thanks you for your patience and confidence in him, and hopes to apply for another loan once he has repaid this one.

    Hi Lenders,

I was able to visit Djibril (Djiby) last week at his electronics business. He and his brother own a small shop located in a bustling indoor electronics market. They sell cell phones, but also secondhand laptops, iPads, and other specialty electronics. With many other vendors surrounding them, Djiby's business differentiates itself from competition by selling higher-end electronics. Currently, Djiby says the iPhone is their best seller.

They are currently paying back their first loan and are eager to finish the payments quickly in order to take out a second, bigger loan to support their growing business.

I recently met with Pouye and he has finished paying off his first loan. He is feeling comfortable and now wants to expand his business. Pouye is well known in his community and wants another loan so he can start selling used computers, parts and cell phones. He knows a couple of distributors downtown and is really interested in selling Blackberry cell phones. Pouye hopes to use his earnings to expand his business and help his family.
