About Me

Whom I Am
My names are Philip Juma who reside here in Nairobi the capital city of Kenya. Am a born again Christian. But by birth I come from Western part of Kenya from Kisumu County.
Am married with –children aged between 7 and 15yrs .The 1st born who is in high school will be in Form 2 next year while his follower will join high school too in 2016.

My Business

Business
By profession am in tailoring business which I have been doing to support my family and the children of my only and elder brother who died years back.
I have been doing new ladies clothes and bags. Bags I started doing 1 year ago but after doing an intensive research I found that school and travelling bags has a large market which is just waiting to be tapped. That one I can testify about after doing 20 bags in 4 weeks which were quickly bought.
Therefore its my humble request to apply for a loan so I could buy the tent materials which are expensive but best for making quality long lasting bags. My desire is not just to make bags but make bags which are of quality, durable and unique so I could have customers from far and wide.
My dream is that this bag industries will not only for supporting my family but I have a vision of training and mentoring many of the kids in our neighborhood who dropped out of school due to fee. I want to train them at a subsidized fee so they could know the trade and also open up their businesses for self-sustenance. For me to achieve these, a helpful hand inform of financial boost can really make things turn around.

Loan Proposal

I have been managing a small tailoring workshop where I have one industrial sewing machine which I bought at90000/= ($900) . Just recently I ventured into a bag industry which I realized has a great demand.
I decided to try this after noticing that people aren’t getting school and travelling bags of good quality and my plan to provide them with these has worked so well despite the financial challenges I have been facing. My vision for these industry is to make it a big field where I can train and employ many people who are now jobless.
Am planning to start this by adding 6 more industrial sewing machines and employ at least 8 people ,6 to work as machine operators and 2 to work at the sales and marketing department. Am looking forward to employ as many people as possible and therefore 8 people are not my limit.
These machines are going for $900 each and there are also bag materials which are bought at 1500/=per metres( $15 ).I need to start with at least 20 metres, all these are too expensive and that’s why I have decided to join Zidisha to help me achieve my goal and dream. The total amount I need for these is 60000/-= ($6000), but I will be just for what Zidisha lenders will approve.
