About Me

My childhood early stages was challenging since I liked school but my parents could not afford to pay my school fee. I used to be send home mostly until one day when the school headmaster told me not to go to school again but stay at home.Since my family is a poligamous family my parents could not afford because we were 22 of us.I stayed at home thinking of what to do.I then approached a neighbour to give me some work to do.He agreed and did some work in his farm.Since he had a big farm,I requested to give me a small portion so that I can use it to plant my crops. He gave me some capital so that he will be deducting as I work for him,as my crops also are growing. When he had finished deducting his money and owed him nothing,I told him to be saving for me until I requested, when my crops will be ready for harvesting, because he was a good man and I trusted him.He did so and later my crops were ready for harvesting.I harvested, sold and requested for my money. It took me one year but I had saved enough to pay for my school, and continue doing some farming. When I joined secondary it was a bit challenging,I had to rear chicken and since it was a day school I used to do a lot of work to raise some money.I completed my secondary and since I knew about business and had passion and interest in it because I realized with hardworking and dedication,a business can do well,I venture into business. I came with an idea of selling kerosene because people used to travel long distances in search of it.The business did well until now I have my own pump!In our land, the culture of people, the kalenjin community is farming and pastoralist. My children would like to be neurosurgeon and pilot respectively. This motivates me to work hard in my business in order to make them what they would like to be and not suffer like me.

My Business

My business is doing well,I sell kerosene which is used by many people in stoves and lamps, because not many people afford gases,so they prefer kerosene. They had to go to petrol stations to buy which is abit far.The costs of this business are electricity bills, business house rent and legal fees. The revenues are from profits and use this to reinvest in the business.

Loan Proposal

The funds will be used to buy 500 litres of kerosene which costs$250.This will help consumers get kerosene at any time they require, at cheaper prices and ensuring on time service delivery to those who require to be delivered to.This will ensure there is no shortage of stock.
It will help me access the product at lower prices and reduced transport costs from the supplier due to bulk buying. This will also increase my income due to high profits.
The price I used to buy my normal stock and the price to buy with these funds will reduce with a large amount. This means the profits will increase from the normal profits I used to get at an estimated amount of $200 per month. With these,I can see myself opening another branch in the next one year.
