About Me

My name is Donald Mogesi Tinega and was born in 14/10/1979 in Kisii North, Borabu Division, Esise Location, Ekerubo Sub-Location.

I started my primary Education in Memisi DEB Primary School, whereby I completed my education in the year 1994, later I started my Secondary Education in the year 1995 and completed in the year 1998 in my O-level.

In the year 2001 I joined Bishop Ndingi Mwangaza College in Nakuru, whereby I pursued in KATC 1&2, I then proceeded to CPA in part one in the year 2002. I completed part two in the year 2004.

My Business

I am employed with a lower working class at Transmara Sugar Company Limited, whereby I started a side business in poultry farming. In poultry farming I deal with broiler chickens business whereby I started with 50 birds and have grown gradually to a level of 300 birds currently. I intend to attain at least 500 birds in one lot and have a cycle of 3 annually so that I can meet my customers demand.

My customers prefer white meat as compared to red meat, my business cycle is short as it takes only six weeks to have the product ready in the market. My customer targets are individuals and commercial hotels and it is not saturated.

My business profit is still not much due small bird population. This business have risks and challenges which arise from nutrition and disease.

Loan Proposal

Thank you very much for the opportunity that you have granted me to apply for a loan through Zidisha Lending community and I intend to use this loan by increasing the the capacity of broilers Chicken birds and also expand the house as to enable me add more stock of the birds.

This is because in the annual year I intend to have 3 cycles of the broilers chicken birds so that I can be able to meet my customers demands both individually and commercially.

    Hi Lenders
I finally got Donald on phone today and we had a long chat with him. The main reason why he has not been paying his loan was a misunderstanding on the amount reimbursed. This was his third loan. Out of the Ksh 8900 the money that was reimbursed was about Ksh 800 . He thought there was a problem with the system and has been waiting for the rest of the money from Zidisha. I explained to him that the reason why he got only 800 was because in the previous 2 loans only the registration fee was deducted. The Loan Deposit Fund has never been deducted in his loans and i mde him understand why it was necessary for him to have that deducted. I also made him aware of the fact that it was refunduble once he is through with paying his loan. He finally understood that. Also i made him aware of the need to adjust his weekly payments to manageable figures so that his credit rating may be above par for him to have a favourable credit rating on his next loan . He is therefore going to update all his arrears by Monday next week and be at par with the payments.
All the best Donald and happy new year.

I am very much thankful to all my lenders who have supported me this far although I took longer period to clear out my outstanding loan due to delay of payments for the products I supplied to my clients e.g government, parastatals and private companies and it took me time than I anticipated. I would like to apologize to all my lenders and the management for the same and promise to remain royal as before.

    Thank you

Hi lenders and the management, I spoke to Donald Tinega and discussed in detail regarding his loan arrears and he assured me that he will be repaying in full all the arrears, but he has not yet received the cheque and other payments from his clients of which they have brought him down financially since he supplied the products and payments are pending.

Donald, had to apologize for backsliding in loan repayments but also promised to clear his arrears as soon as possible.

      Dear Vincent,

It seems that we have posted the payment Mr. Tinega made last week, but he is still behind in payments. Is another payment he made missing? If so, can you have him email us at [email protected] with the details?

      Thank you,
