Am a Kenyan, Anglican christian born and raised in a family of ten siblings, raised from a poor background in western part of Kenya. I managed to struggle past high school where my poor parents could manage to educate me and most of my brothers and sisters, after which I had to fend for myself to further get training in Insurance. Am married with 5 kids and currently live in Ongata Rongai just near Nairobi City. My kids, four girls and a boy go to nearby schools within the locality and are doing very well. I am a trained Insuranmce agent working and being paid on commisssion basis from different companies but based at Jubilee Insurance Company Kenya LTD. I also have a small farm at the coutry side in my rural home where I grow some crops mainly for our consumption.
I strive to do my best daily to give my kids a comfortable lifesyle that myself missed in my childhood.
I sell insurance for a living, that is Life, Medical and general insurance for a number of insurance companies but based at Jubilee Insurance and I earn on commission as per produced business. On average I make at least 400$ combined net after my normal expenses like transport, airtime, lunch while at work and some stationary. As a side hurstle I own a motorbike that I have given out to a driver to use as a taxi and in return I earn from that The business is doing well because people in the neighborhoods which are interior and far from the main road prefer this mode of transport. I plan to add a number of them in the near future if my financial status improve. At the moment the bike gives me a net profit of 110$ after expenses of fuel, oil and servicing. The money earned from all the above are normally for school fees, food, clothing and Education Insurance oilicies for the kids.
Currently in the last few weeks I have traned on work from home internet transcription work and am good to go. Am currently fundraising for a laptop for the project.
I have saved 356$ for buying a laptop going for 500$ so am fundraising for the remainder which is 144$ . I expect this to help me make extra income to be able to expand my other taxi business and even save more.
