About Me

My name is Elkana Kibet Kitur. I come from Kericho county in formerly Rift Valley region of Kenya. We are small scale tea growers but due to land fragmentation, the activity is currently unprofitable. I attended local primary in my area and later and later secondary school through bursary sponsorship because my single parent could not raise secondary school school fees. I managed to score high grades that took me to the university through government sponsorship and student loan program and trained as a teacher. After graduation in 2013, getting a job as a teacher became difficult and when I got one the pay was low. I have always wanted to do online jobs as a freelancer in my pastime to get extra income. I have been trained as a freelancer and I would like to fully venture into the business on a full-time basis.

My Business

The business I do is online freelancing services where I work as an article writer. I write articles for different clients who pay for the services at a good pay because they are on high demand. I chose this business because developing creative content has been my strong areas as well as having good pay. Also, its a form of self employment. The costs incurred in this business are internet connectivity and a computer. The profit that I would realize would go into reinvestment and get more clients. Also, as a young person, I would like to improve my house by getting some furniture and electronics.

Loan Proposal

I need the loan to buy a laptop for my professional article writing service. The laptop will cost me $180.00. I will be able to work effectively at the comfort of my home and thereby improving my income since I will write more articles.
