About Me

I am a 37 year old born in Busia but currently living in Eldoret. I grew up in rural Busia where I attended my primary education and secondary education then got a scholarship to study business administration at moi University. The scholarship was a great opportunity that enabled me to get a university education which would not have been possible as my parents could not have afforded to pay for my college education. after graduating, I tried to look for employment to no avail and that is when I decided to start my business. through determination and hard work I have been able to see my business grow. currently the business is able to sustain me and also it helps me support my siblings through their education. I believe that through financial support and the hardwork I put in, my business is bound to grow even further.

My Business

Liberty Icons is a store selling clothes, ladies handbags and shoes. The business was started 5 years ago. Through hardwork and dedication the business has been able to grow and see its clientele base increase. Shoes selling is a sector that is yet to be fully exploited in Eldoret and Liberty Icons seeks to get into this sector to benefit from the gap that currently exists.

Loan Proposal

I intend to add the loan amount to what I have saved and buy second hand shoes to sell at the store. This will help Liberty Icons diversify what it offers and tap into the shoes market which has been picking up rapidly in Eldoret due to the numerous colleges and universities that have been opened in the town in the last few years. Therefore, by tapping into this new segment, the business will diversify it's portfolio at the same time offer an alternative for customers in this segment who are currently under served. it is projected that this will increase Liberty Icon's profit margins by upto 50%. Currently, the business makes up to ksh 8000 in profits per week and with this new addition, profits per week are expected to rise to ksh 12000
