About Me

My name is Ini Valerie Florence Kambiré-Pooda, and I was born on September 30, 1974 in Gaoua. This is in the southwest of Burkina Faso, approximately three hundred kilometers from the city of Bobo-Dioulasso. I am married and the mother of two children, both girls. The older daughter attends first grade at the Municipal High School in the city where I live. After primary school in 1986 where I got my CEP, I went to secondary school at Jean Paul II High School in Bobo and got my BEPC. Currently I am a teacher in a public school in this city. I also raise local hens as a side business.

My Business

I have been raising local hens for the past 3 years. I own over 200 locally bred hens that are disease-resistant and therefore sought after. I give them a local feed that is made specially by me, which is corn-based and also includes fish powder and millet. The loan I am seeking will be used to increase the number of chickens, to buy equipment such as drinking and feeding troughs, and to provide shelter for the birds. I hope to receive help through Zidisha Microfinance to reach these goals.
