About Me

Am a fourth born in a family of nine, 4 girls and 5 boys. Am married to Veronicah Nyakianda whom we are blessed with 2 children Melanie Ayeta and Neil Wanjiah. I finished my O levels at Kimilili High school in 1996 and did a Diploma course in Business administration in 2002 at Eldoret Polytechnic. My wife works as a procurement officer at Amicabre Travel in Nairobi. Currently am looking for a job after resigning from my previous job(as a Fleet Administration manager) in June 2013 in search of a better place. I need this loan to invest in agro business as with modern techniques this is a reliable source of income.
We have enough land as a family but no capital to start this business, i want to be a role model, my project to be model within which the whole village will learn from.
I like watching over animals as they graze, something i have been doing since my teenage.

My Business

AGRI-BUSINESS (DAIRY FARMING)

With modern, proper feeds, targets and proper record keeping, dairy farming is a great source of income. I already have one fresian heifer and a half way done zero grazing structure for 3 cows, calves pen and feeds store.

With this loan i intend to add a milking healthy fresian cow that will cost me shs 80,000 ($811.5), finishing up the structure at shs 35,000 ($355.05). Monthly expenses will be labour shs3,000 ($30.43), Feeds shs10,000 ($101.44), Vet shs7,000 ($71.01).

Milk is sold to Kenya Co-operative Creameries (KCC) and or Brookside at Shs 40 ($0.41) per litre or locally at the same rate. Monthly expenditure will be like (15lts x 2cows x 30days x shs40 =sh 36,000 ($365.20).

If given a loan of $1519 at an interest rate of 8%, i will be able to repay it at around $92,82 in18 months without straining. This will vary with an increase in milk production. In intend to introduce another breed depending on adaptability and disease resistance. I will also use this to educate the local village about the new feeding techniques and zero grazing that is hardly practiced here.
Thanks for your consideration.

    Zidisha Team,
I take this opportunity to thank the entire Zidisha team for making this happen.
Am going to finish up the zero grazing unit, and transfer the one cow that I had and see how we progress.
Am sure within a short time I will have paid back the loarn and apply for more becouse I still need a better high yielding cow.
