My name is Elizabeth Wambui Kiarie. I am a 30 years old lady living in Karen Nairobi. I hold a bachelor's degree in Education. I am a trained teacher in high school biology and chemistry. I acquired my undergraduate degree from St. Mary's University of Minnesota, USA, an affiliate university of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA).
I am single in status. I live alone with no children. I graduated from the University in the year 2011. I got my first job with the ICEA Lion Insurance company along Mombasa road. I worked here as sales lady for one year. I was fired in November, 2013 because of doing things my way.
I left ICEA and looked for a job elsewhere. I found my second job with the International Corporate Research company in Upperhill Nairobi. ICR employed me for two yrs and I worked here as a Junior Research Officer.
When I found myself jobless, I decided to use my little savings to start a small business. During my university days, I got broke and my need for good upkeep pushed me into business venture.
I used to sell second hand clothes to my fellow girls in the hostels. This way I could make little and good pocket money. I therefore, had a clue about fashion, so I decided to run a small Boutique for ladies wear, along Bogani road in Karen Nairobi.
I started this in June 2015 and it is running to date. I have made some great steps since I opened. For instance, it has enabled me to be self reliant all this while and I have been able to care for my parents and my two siblings. I hope I Zidisha is an opportunity to make more financial steps. I look forward to further growth on this platform.
When I found myself jobless, I decided to use my little savings to start a small business. During the running of this business, I have encountered alot of ups and downs. I understand this is normal for any business and that is why I am looking for someone to stand with me in time of need.
I am planning alot for my small business and I believe Zidisha is a reliable partner. I will use my loan to expand my business. I have had interested male customers making enquiries for long. I therefore, would like to add in a boutique for men's wear.
