About Me

My name is Janet Owusu-Afriyie, 23years of age and a native of Badu township in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. I am the first child among six children of Mr and Mrs Owusu-Afriyie who although engage in different types of work, have farming as their main source of income. The main type of farming that my parents are into is cultivating of corn, yam, pepper, groundnut and also the rearing of animals. I completed senior high school in 2012 and since then has been working as a casual worker. This is mainly because I believe in finding something to do always in order to make ends meet. I was born a Christian and therefore has strong believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. I hope to continue my education at the tertiary level but still strongly believe in entrepreneurship and self employment. This is the main reason why I engage in animal rearing.

My Business

Although currently I work as a casual worker in the accounts department of Tain District hospital, I still engage in farming. I am into the rearing of animals like goat, sheep, pig and chicken. Since I live in a community where farming is one of the driving force of the nation, I decided to move in this line of business. Animal farming is a very lucrative venture. It can be a source of food, income, and sometimes entertainment when you are with these animals. I started this business when I was in senior high school. My father is a vertinary officer by profession and therefore he gives me enough help and motivation in my business. My dream is to see it grow to the extent that I will be able to win the national best famer of my country one day. This is the main reason that I am very happy to be part of zidisha because I take it to be the lather that will push me to attain greater height.

Loan Proposal

I wish to apply for this loan to buy feeds for my farm animals. Lenders helped me a lot in my previous loan and I wish to continue my business. This loan will therefore give me funds to buy enough feeds for the animals without having to release these animals to feed on their own which they can destroy other people's farm. I promise to abide by all rules and regulations governing this noble firm. Thank you.
