About Me

I am a twenty six year old male Kenyan Citizen. I am the first born in a family of two. I have a sister in high school, form three this year. Her name is Susan Njeri. I live in Thika, Majengo Estate opposite Thika Primary School House Number 8, Plot Number 23. I deal with ladies shoes. I normally sell in the evening from 5pm just outside Family Bank in Thika, a very busy street. If am not there, I am outside Macvast Restaurant opposite Thika arcade. I am a part time student pursuing Certificate in Public Accounting. Currently from 8 am to 4:30 pm I am under internship prior going to my business at 5 pm. I am doing an internship at Thika Chemist. I started my business in 2011. This was after my parents got into financial problems and I had to make ends meet and educate myself. The business has enabled me pay my course and also assist my parents in ensuring that my sister is not sent home for school fees. I purchase shoes from Eastleigh in Nairobi in Garissa Mall.

My Business

My business is in selling women's shoes. I target women in particular because I sell during rush hour, along a busy street in Eastleigh, where they have a tendency to walk past whilst window shopping. Consequently, I stock a wide variety in order to suit every woman's needs. Using knowledge from my accounting and customer service background, I have the ability to lure my customers into coming to my shop and buying my shoes. I ensure the customer gets a bargain, whilst making a profit, as just one single pair can make me Ksh. 400 profit at minimum. Unfortunately, because I showcase all my shoes on the floor, when it rains they get spoilt, and thus my business cannot function. However, because I deliver on my word, my customers are very loyal and make personal orders, and even before payment, I give them what they want.

Loan Proposal

Hi,

Lenders, I want take this time to thank you for the recommendable job
you are doing. I also want to thank you for the opportunity you have
given me to serve my community in your organization for giving me the
opportunity to serve people as a VOLUNTEER MENTOR. I am happy for that as it
has boosted my c.v and more I have recruited young investors too.

I am very happy to post my fourth loan on this platform after a successful
investment of my previous loan of 925$ last loan. The loan was very
successful and very fruitful in my life as it gave me a chance to join hands with my fellow friends at home, and we came to conclusion that each
month we will be visiting less fortunate children and orphans at their
residence, helping to make their life as enjoyable as we can.

This loan I am requesting, am intending to
1. Invest 30 % in buying high heel shoes for ladies and army boots,
as you might be aware we are entering into a rainy season after the dry
spell. I want to buy these shoes early enough before their demand goes up
thus I will save by buying at lower cost. I also prefer the high heel shoes stock so my customers can find everything they want under one roof.

2. I will use 40% to buy mens shoes such as smart shoes, casual shoes and sandals. I will purchse these from the capital city where I can buy in bulk, fetching a good return on each product.

3. 20% of this loan will be used for decorating my shop. The walls have faded, so I will paint it, and will also buy a big mirror in order to make it attractive and classy. This renovation will not damage my custom, as the work shall be done at the weekend.

4. 10% of the remaining loan, will be used to meet my pledges. I have made a
pledge to a children's home that at the end of term I will award the best performing student in class 7 and the most improved student a prize. I believe it is important to motivate the children in their work.

I do call on all the zidisha lenders to sacrifice and fund my projects
as I still keep to my word that I will never fall into debt. I have always maintained 100% repayment so far.

God bless you.

    Hi Lewis

Do I get you right in that you invested the money borrowed (or part of it) in shares? I would find that very annoying news because it never was part of the deal.

    Thanks for your answer.

i cannot pay the full installment amount due. I would like to reduce my payment. this is due to the financial constraint but i will resume my high rate of time very soon i have done this so as to wait for maturity of my shares in the stock exchange, i have bought them when they are at the lowest price and in a short period of time , i know you will also rejoice as i resume my high rate of payment, for now i have sent my one week due with prepayment of one month. thanks alot for always being my supporters

Reducing your installment amount (and paying the reduced amount on time) will allow you to keep your on-time repayment score high, so that you can continue to qualify for loan size increases and other privileges.

Will using this option affect my on-time repayment score?

No: As long as you make the new installment amount payment on time, your on-time repayment score will not be harmed by reducing the installment amount.

Can I postpone my installment instead?

We believe that regular on-time repayments, no matter how small, are important to preserving a relationship of trust with lenders and our community. For this reason, we do not offer the option to postpone payments. Instead, you may temporarily reduce your installment to an amount you can afford to pay on the due date, and then increase the amount again for later installments.
