About Me

My name is Idnanbo Tafuya Kwadwo. I come from Apowa in the Western Region of Ghana. I was born on 6th day of June 1983. My parents are Mr.Tafuya Clement and Mrs. Idnanbo Aisha. Iam a Muslim, I attended primary school at Islamic primary school Apowa. I had the opportunity to further my education at Secondary level but after completing, I could not go to the tertiary because my mother was suffering from stroke so she could not work to support my education and my father was security man .My father's salary was not enough to cater for all four of us and my sick mother. I was the eldest so I had to end my education in other to assist my father in taking care of the family. Life was not easy at all for me and I was not having any job to do also. Later, I got a teaching appointment at Apowa Islamic School as a Nursery 2 teacher which I was happy because there was no other option for me than to do it. I taught for some years and felt that the income I earned was only for food but not for life. I later worked in a melon farm, there my earnings were enough so I was able to save for my future and supported my father a little. After 3 years of working as a labourer in the watermelon farm,I was able to save up to $460 to start my own business. At Apowa, the main occupation is farming and for that reason farming equipments and machines are mostly needed so I decided to sell motor parts to help the community.

My Business

I started my business with $460 which I got from worken as a labourer in the watermelon farm for 3years. I sell motor parts in my shop, parts like brake bands, crouch cables, spockets, etc. In the Western Region, Apowa precisely ,the people living here are mostly farmers so they use motor bikes a lot, and since we are haven bad roads here their bikes gets different types of faults each day and they cannot do away with the motor bikes so selling such parts to them makes their work simple for them.I choose this business of selling motor parts because when I was a labourer at the watermelon farm, I saw how people uses their bikes in farming so I tried my best to save my income so that I can sell such parts to them on moderate prices because other motor parts shops always takes the advantages of high demand to increase their prices without considering the buyers. That motivated me a lot start this business. And since I started, Demand of the motor parts from my shop keeps increasing day after day, and for that matter profit earn is also encouraging. My capital was small so I could not purchase more parts that has affected my profit but my profits are not so bad because I earn at least $45 to $50 a week. I use some of my profits to support my family, pay my taxes, rent ,utilities and housekeeping. The rest is reinvested in the business.

Loan Proposal

I would be very grateful if my loan is fully funded. I will use my loan to buy more motor parts and include some helmets in my shop so that people's safety will be assured. Since my capital was not enough, I was not able to include such parts in my shop so customers travel to the city for such parts or buy them in higher prices from other shops, so iam sure that if my loan is invested in the business and such parts are in supply, customers who travel to the city for helmets and other parts like starters, engine blocks, etc or buy them on higher prices from other shops will no longer be cheated, because they will buy from my shop. I hope my profit will increase from $50 to $60 a week which will help me and my family a lot.
