About Me

I am Wambui Jane Wairimu. I am a first born of three. When I was born, my mum was 16 yrs. old. She was not ready for parenting and she left me to be staying with my grandmother. She was a single parent. I was brought up partly by my mother and grandmother. I started working at ten years old as a casual worker together with my mum. We lived in a single room. When I finished my primary school and my mum was not able to pay for my fees, the church I used to attend did a fundraising for me to go to high school. On my KCSE time, my mum passed away leaving behind a 1 month old kid. I joined a company as a cleaner and enrolled for the CPA which I do part time. When I was a small girl, I used to take care of my Grandmother`s poultry. That's how I got interested.

My Business

I have a desire to be a large-scale poultry keeper and do goat rearing. I started last year but, unfortunately, dogs raided my chicken. I have started this year with one chicken but it is challenging to me to build a bigger house since I have no skills and finances. I have a goal by the end of this year: I will have over 20 chickens and two goats. I am doing pure traditional breed of chicken which is very tasty and has a good immunity. I intend to use the profits for the poultry enlarging and educating my siblings. I will be selling eggs and chicken and use the manure for small-scale farming. I have a desire and moreover everyone is turning to organic products.
I also intend to use finances to acquire land for large-scale farming as the flock grows.

Loan Proposal

The main aim of taking this loan is to enlarge my poultry farming by adding more hens in the house and also making a better house.I will buy 4 traditional hen @ $11.1 .I will be selling eggs with high nutritional value and also sell chicken to others.I will have a source of income and give manure to people who are farming nearby.I expect to start earning after two years when my poultry farm will have more than enough chicken to sell and to reproduce.I expect to make $100 per month.
