About Me

I am Janet Aluoch, a 2nd born in a family of six. My siblings are all grown up by now. My father died when I was 19 years old and my mother is a live. I did not continue with my education past High School.

I got married at the age of 20 and lived with my husband only for 1 year then he died. He left me with one baby girl who is 8 years old now and she is in grade 3. Life was very hard for me after the death of my husband and this led me to start a small cereals selling business to get income to feed myself and my daughter.,

I started this grocery business to bust our income to make us able to pay all our bills and use the rest to purchase food and household goods.

My hobbies is listening to rock music and reading. In my free time I go around the village visiting and counseling with widows in a peer group.

My Business

I am trading on cereals and fresh food. I started the business seven years ago, my source of the earning from church and also the profit I make from the business.
The goods I sell to my customers are green vegetables, beans, pears, rice, groundnuts, tomatoes, dry fish and all kinds of cereals in my shop .

My customers prefer my business because I am always there to serve them and they never find us closed . The business is profitable because there is high demand for the products that we are selling to them. The estate is over crowded or densely populated .The risk my business faces is scarcity of products due to lack of capital.

My typical monthly cost of running the business is US$100 while Gross Profit or income before these expenses is usually approximately US$75.

Loan Proposal

I am in need of capital to inject in my cereals selling business. A loan of KES 9,000 will enable me to add more products for sale and retain my clients while increasing my profit by 30%. I look forward to repaying my loan in time and accessing more low/free interest loans at ZIDISHA Platform. Thanks in advance to my lenders for the support and confidence in my business.
