I come from a family of four consisting of my mother, sister, brother and me. I have lived in Allsopps area for 2 years ever since I cleared my degree in Economics from Kenyatta University. I currently work at a research company but have ventured into business as well, I already have a Malimali shop (deals with general household products) that is very promising. I started the business as a passion and a long term strategic plan to ensure sustainability in the future since good jobs are hard to come buy in our economy. The earnings generated from my business are currently reinvested back into the business in an aim of boosting growth in the shortrun.
My appeal to local and international lenders is to support my vision since, I have already laid out a 10 year plan that will see me quit the rat race and get into wealth building through hardwork and perseverance.
I currently have a single source of income which is my job. Profits generated from the malimali shop are currently reinvested back into the business to boost growth in the short term. My malimali shop provides general household commodities to the target market which is the entire household. since inception the business has experienced an increase in demand since the products sold are critical and indispensible for the day to day life of the common Kenyan household. With me getting my products from the Nairobi importers, I am able to offer lower prices than my competitors who get products from middlemen in the bigger town of Kisii. The main advantage of the business is the dealing in durable goods in a non-price controlled market thus ensuring profitability through free market forces.
For the time it has been in operation, I have managed to get sales of about $1000 a month and a profit margin of about $200-300 a month. I will inject the loan into the business to avail more product volumes now that the demand is higher than my supply. I will easilly repay the loan from my currrent job so as to allow the business to grow through profit ploughed back system
I will use the loan to purchase more stationery products (books, pens and ink) for the shop located in Oyugis, Kenya. With the Form 1 students joining school, there has been an increase in demand for stationery products. Therefore, the acquisition of additional stock will add value by availing products and contributing to the growth of sales volumes. Lenders should support this project since it implies higher profit margins and there is a guaranteed ready market for the stationery products.
