About Me

I am Anne Mwihaki Kariuki born in the Rift Valley part of Kenya. Started my primary School level i 1998 up to 2009 when i did my class eight when i did my final exams at primary level. From a family of seven, i have both parents who are farmers. I am the fifth born in the family. I joined Nyandarua high school in the central part of kenya in the year 2010 luckily, because my parents weren't able to pay up my fees so my grandmother took that responsibility. My parents were not able to pay my fees as a result of the post election violence that occurred. In spite of the challenges that i faced while in high school i did not give up, i kept on pushing. I got sent home for fees several times but this did not take me down i was determined to finish my secondary level. I did finish fortunately in the year 2013 but i wasn't able to join college due to lack of fees. I decided to move to Nairobi where i got my first job working as a waitress this is where i managed to save and got capital to open a general shop which i run up to date. Have also open a new salon which am running to maximize my profit.

My Business

I run a general shop which is located along Jogoo road opposite City Stadium next to Shell Petrol Station and Burma market. I really struggled to raise this business's capital because my parents weren't able to support me since they are small scale farmers and were taking responsibility of the other young ones. It took me up to one year to raise the capital for starting this shop. I have now worked for one year and a couple of months and besides challenges that am facing its really doing well. I am applying for Zidisha loan so that i am able to expand this business and also open an Mpesa shop services and hoping for a smooth run.

Loan Proposal

I run a general shop along Jogoo road opposite City Stadium near Shell petrol staion next to Burma market. I started the shop from my savings when i was working as a waitress. I first heard about Zidisha from a good friend of mine and decided to apply since i knew it will be of much help to me and my business. I am planning to add stock to the shop as the one am currently having does not fit all of the customers demand.
I am also planning to extend the shop and open an Mpesa services shop to work as a Safaricom agent. Which will require quite a large amount of money which if all goes well i know with Zidisha all is possible.
