About Me

I am a 27 years old born in the village of Kanyamwa, Homa bay county. I am a second born in a family of seven. I have studied up to standard eight. The reason unto why I started this business was that my husband died and left me a widow with eight children to care of; 5 my own and 3 from my late co-wife. Life was so hard after the death of my husband and I could not meet the education costs and even money to afford basic needs like food. I live in an area where finding a meal for the day is a forgone case we only take meals once in a day. Joblessness among youths in our country has also led to this since there is a growing population and the job opportunities are few. I therefore came up with this idea of starting a business which is growing at a faster rate due to the fact that it is a consumable product. The money i get from the produce I use to feed our family and again help the community members who are in dare need. I like playing football and read newspapers especially

In my childhood, I went through a very hard life and my education was cut short due to lack of school fee. Due to high poverty, I decided to start a business of selling the grains to keep my family and take the children in school.

My Business

I sell grains; Maize, Beans, Green grams, Millet and Sourghum. These are essential commodities that every household uses in their daily food needs. I am currently trading with Ksh 8,000 and I need a loan of Ksh 1,534, in order to purchase more grains for sell.

With a capital of Ksh 10,534, I will purchase 5 bags of assorted commodities and sell. The profit from the sale will be used to pay school fee for my children, pay rent and medical needs of the children.

Loan Proposal

I need a loan of KES 4,506 to buy 2 bags of dried maize for re-selling at my food kiosk. The maize commodity is in high demand now and the loan will help me to stock four bags for re-selling. I will make a total of KES 2,000 profit per bag and 2 bags will give me a profit of KES 4,000 per week. The loan from ZIDISHA will enable me to expand the business and repay the loan on time while meeting my family financial needs.

I have called Miss Jocinter several times but she keeps talking in her local language which I don't understand. I have text her about the late loan but she hasn't replied concerning this issue.

If you are struggling to make your repayments, Jocinter, please ask Zidisha to reduce them to a level you can manage. This will stop you getting a bad repayment record, which can make it harder to get future loans.
    God bless you,
    Wendy
