About Me

My name is Moses Gitau a resident of Mombasa. I operate as a bicycle operate famously known as (bodaboda) in Kenya. I went to Nyali primary school but dropped out of school when i was in class seven. This happend after my father and mother got divorced because of marital problems. My father left us and got married to another woman. I decide to leave school and look for money to support my mother.
we had a bicycle at our residence which was just idle, nobody had though to convert it to something useful. I though of operating as a bodaboda operator and support my mother and my little brother too in school.
i started ferrying people from the Likoni town to the Likoni ferry to cross the Indian Ocean to the other side. This helped me make some money, saved and open a grocer for my mother.

My Business

I offer transport services to people. I transport them from Likoni town to the Likoni ferry station. The services that i offer are on very high demand because a lot of people travel every day to work and also a lot of pupil and students go to school every day thus they need a means of transport to transport them too and from.
we bought that bicycle at KES 6000 sometimes back last year. I charge KES 50 per to offer my service or my ride either to Likoni town or to the ferry.
i use the profits generated to support my young brother in school, support my mothers grocer business and i am also planning to buy another bicycle so that i can have two and employ somebody to run the other one.

Loan Proposal

Given 50 Us dollars, i will add my daily savings of 10 Us dollars and buy a new bicycle for my bodaboda business.
I will be making more money because i will have two bicycle running as opposed to the initial one bicycle. It will also benefit others because i will create an employment opportunity to somebody to be riding the bike and also my customers will be easily served and taken to the destinations more easily.
