About Me
My Nancy Otieno, born in Siaya County in Western Kenya. I was born in a family of 3 - 2 boys and I am the only girl in the family. I attended primary and later secondary school at home and later relocated to Mombasa to join my parents who were working there. My father later retired and went back home where he is currently doing farming activities.
While in Mombasa, I enrolled for a course in business management and administration at a diploma level. I got a job shortly after and I worked for 3 years and then decided to quit to start my own business since I was not satisfied with the terms my employer was offering.
I am married with two kids aged 4 and 1 year. I am an ambitious person who works very hard to secure the future of my family.
My Business
I run a computer bureau in Mombasa town. My work entails making business cards, wedding cards, receipt books and all types of publications. I do the artwork using a computer and later take the finished to a printing press where mass production is done.
I serve a wide range of clients like schools, churches, business people and government institutions. Due to high population of Mombasa city, I have a continuous flow clients throughout the year.
I make a modest net profit of about $320 per month and I use this money to pay bills for the family and to support my now aging parents back home.
Loan Proposal
The work that I do demands that I have top of the range machines for quick and efficient service. For this reason, I intend to buy an new model printer which will enable me to serve my clients faster and give them more satisfaction. I am currently using an old printer which breaks down quite often thus slowing me down and this annoys my clients.
The printer I have in mind will cost $150 and therefore, with this loan, will be able to add about $60 from my savings to purchase the printer. The coming of the new printer will definitely boost my business by enabling me to do more jobs per day thus making more income.
