My name is Magret Kanyi,I am married with 3 kids.I was born In Central Kenya but migrated to Busia county, since my husband comes from there.
After getting married my husband lost his job, since I was a house wife,we could barely pay our bills. I decided to venture into farming to earn income.i started as small scale farmer ,but later took a loan to buy green house . I have since cleared the loan, and my farming business is doing fairly well.
I have 3 kids, they want to be doctors when they grow up,I am working hard to ensure they achieve their dreams.
I mainly grow tomatoes in my green house and kales in open air.I always ensure they reach the market when fresh and of good quality. This gives me premium prices for my goods and help me expand my clientele base since clients always prefer my goods.
This goods are in high demand since Busia is densely populated and majority of youths dont prefer farming so only less people farm, hence making demand high than supply.
In a good month ,I make $200 in profit. I use $150 in labor ,fuel and pesticides.
I use my revenues to pay school fees for my kids and take care of my family.
I am requesting for a loan to buy an irrigation tank, for my green house farm. The tank got blown away by wind three weeks ago,I managed to replace it with a smaller tank which is less efficient. I would use the $100 loan to supplement my savings and buy a bigger efficient tank (10000 litres) at $160 Thanks in advance for your kindness.
