I am ,maxwell, married with 2 kids a boy and a girl. I completed senior high school at salvation army senior school. After school, I started involving myself in farming which gives me good income to sustain my family.I also do have 5 sheeps and 10 goats, which it gives me a total of . 1500 ghana cedis in a year. I want to give my children a better education and not to let them suffer they way i did when i am in school. I love playing soccer sometimes but really love my farming job as my hobby too.
My business is farming for commercial purpose and I mainly plant maize and other vegetables which gives profit because in my area people don't involve themselves in maize farming and that's why I decided to do it. The risk of this business is in dry season and heavy rain because it need a short rain ,it also need pesticides to prevent it from pests for it to grow well. .
Pesticides and spraying machine for my acres of land will cost about 200 dollars.
When it is harvested, i gain profits of about 700 to 800 dollars. I then use some of the money to buy new seedlings for next growing. Also part of the money is use to pay my children school fees.
I am very grateful to zidisha for the first loan that was given to buy the pesticides for the maize farm. The maize are not ready to be harvested but child is going to the university and it come with a lot of cost. I am pleading with lenders to help me pay the admission and hostel fees and tuition fees. This will give me time to harvest the maize and pay back the loan.
