About Me

I am Alphyne Debora, a 29 year old, widowed woman and a mother of 3 kids (2 boys and 1 girl). I have lived in Mbita Township for the past 14 years and am not intending to move any time soon. My last born son is in class three and the eldest girls in class six. I am an experienced teacher and I manage a Nursery and Pre-primary school here at Mbita, during my free time I offer guidance and counseling to teenage boys and girls who come to our school for after school lessons (Tuition).

I grew up in a polygamous family. My parents were peasant farmers and we used to help them in the farm. I successfully completed both my primary and secondary education. I got married and lived with my husband only for 8 years and then he died.

I started my business after noticing the importance of education in our community since I understand that the root of education is what determines the quality of education and in my community most parents did not understand the importance of early childhood education so I started the Nursery school with an aim to better the standard of education in my community.

My Business

My business involve managing a school where I and my staff we teach children who are starting school these are aged 3 years and above for baby class is 3 years to 4 years and then Nursery is 4 years to 5 years then is Pre-Unit that is 5 years to 6 years, then from there we graduate them to early Primary that is from class 1-3, in my School I have seven teachers and two cleaners and one secretary so in total, I have 10 staff members, business is good since the community appreciates our work and they are very co-operative. The school business needs alot of capital especially at the start-up level, I need to buy chairs, games equipment and stationery hence the need of a loan from ZIDISHA.

Loan Proposal

I want to buy stationery for my school this include books, chalks, charts and pens that will sustain me for the whole term this will cost Ksh9, 000 and so with the Zidisha funds I plan to add to my savings buy the stationery that will help my school see more profits throughout the term since I will not need to be buying the stationery every time and that will allow my staff members to enjoy their work and so also to boost their morale. I look forward to having a good profit and repaying the loan on time.
