My name is Adwoa Ataa. I come from Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong-Ahafo region of Ghana. I attended Roman Catholic primary and Junior high School both in Dormaa Ahenkro and continued to Dormaa senior high School. When I was about to complete, my father had an motor accident and passed out on the spot. Even though l managed to write the final examination with the little support from sympathizers, but I could not continue to where I wanted. I decided then to set up my own small business to move on with life.I bought one desktop computer and a printer and started printing and typing people's project work and letters and later bought a photocopy machine with the few profit accrewed from the business. Dormaa Ahenkro is a municipality and a very busy town in which most of the youth are engaged in poultry farming and few others grow cash crops such as cocoa and cashew nuts. I am married now with three children and two of them want to be nurses and t

My Business

I print all manner of cards, wedding, autdooring, funeral invitation and many others. I also type and print letters and project works of students. My business has been useful and in demand because of this computer age where everything is done by the computer.Unlike those days when people do things manually, now times have changed and moreover, because my shop is sited close to the Dormaa midwifery school, students come to my shop to do various kinds of printing, because my customers come to stay and wait for their jobs to be completed, I took the initiative to buy a fridge and stocked it with minerals like fantastic, coke, sprite, malt and many others. This is a country that unemployment is high but with the knowledge I acquired in computing when I was at the senior high School, I decided to make ends meat out of it. I started this business with the amount of Ghs1500. Initially I bought a desktop computer, a printer and later raised some money to buy photocopy machine, a scanner and a camera to take pictures. I make daily sales of about Ghs250 a day and sometimes Ghs300. I reinvest part of the profit I make into the business to grow.
