My name is Maureen Otieno Auma, I am from Busia county in western kenya born to Rose Awino and koduor Ambrose and is the fifth born in a family of eight I am currently a single mother after my husband passed on just two years after wedding. I grew up in our rural home in Busia county and went to Angorom primary school,I passed well and proceeded to st Monica chakol secondary school, Where i did my o-level education.
After secondary school , I got married to my late husband who was a teacher. He was passionate about farming and we kept rabbits, poultry and dairy just to increase our income. After the death of my husband I become more passionate with farming because it was now a main source of income, That is how i remained a farmer,a business I love and adore.
I come from the luo community though i grew up among the iteso community, both tribes are reach in culture including traditional foods and dances.
My daughter want to be a nurse while my son wants to be a pilot. I love their dreams and hope ,i will see them through.
I am a a dancer and i love singing too. I am very social and outgoing and so making new friends is my hobby too.
I am a livestock farmer,I keep poultry, rabbits and dairy cow . I provide eggs, milk ,manure and rabbit urine for my clients.
All this goods are very important to my community members and my clients and the demand is very high ,for example eggs are booked much earlier before they are laid.
I inherited this business from my late husband, and had already learnt a lot about farming so running this business has not been very hectic.
My typical costs in a month average is $150 and my revenues are $370. In a month my net profit average is $170. I use the money to educate my children and buy food for my family.
Dear lenders,I am kindly and humbly requesting you to finance me so that I can buy an incubator for my farm. I will use the incubator to hutch chicks for my farm and other farmers who will pay for the service. these will be really beneficial to my farm and the society in general. From the sale of chicks ,I expect to double my income in the next two months. I strongly believe these will be a game changer and turning point in my farming carrier.please support me .thank you
