About Me

I am Carolines Anyango, I was born 1980 in Koguta Location of Nyakach Sub County, Kisumu County, Kenya. I was the 3rd born among six siblings in my parents home. We lived together as a family. My parents were peasant farmers and we used to help them in the farm during school holidays.

I got married in the year 1995. My husband is a carpenter and also do taxi services using motorcycle in Mbita township during weekends. Our marriage has been blessed with 5 kids with the 1st born in High School and my last born in grade 1. My 1st born would like to be a Nurse.

My husband has limited income and I had to start a small business to supplement the family income. Since I begun the food retailing business, my children are able to stay in school for a very long time without being sent home for school fee. The business is greatly helping me.

In my free time, I do participate in religious activities aimed at encouraging one another and singing at the Church Choir. I am staunch Seventh Day Adventist.

My Business

My business involves selling of fresh fruits, vegetables, onions, tomatoes, dried fish (omena) and other household food items. I started the business 3 years ago from my own savings and so far, I have managed to build a large base of clients who prefers my business. Currently, my customers have started enquiring about fresh fish which I do not stock. I now want to expand my business and stock them since I already have a ready market. Am short of resources and I kindly request Zidisha lenders to help me raise the money so as I can be able to fund my business.

Am able to reach a bigger number of clients through my network. Mostly, I get so many referrals from friends, church members, neighbors and previous clients and that is how I have been able to grow my clientele base.

Monthly, I make around KES 8,000 and with the introduction of fresh Fish, I target the sales to rise upto KES 15, 000. Profits made will be used to repay the loan, pay school fee for my children in school and buy food for my family.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders and ZIDISHA team I wish to thank you for accepting me as ZIDISHA borrower and creating this noble platform for borrowing.

I have been trading on dried fish (omena) and vegetables (kales) for sale. My clients and neighbours have been inquiring about fresh fish (Tilapia), this is a food commodity with high demand I intend to stock it at my food shop. I am therefore seeking a loan of KES 9,012 to enable buy 20pcs as an inventory stock for re-sale.

The loan will enable my business expand and my project is projected to increase by 35%. The increased profit will be used to pay school fee for my children in school and repay the loan on time.
