I am Joyce Akoth. I live in Mbita Township of Homa Bay County. I was born in the year 1993. I completed my form four three years ago. Due to lack of funds I did not manage to proceed with education, so I started a small business to be able to earn a living. I also sing in a local lyrical music in a local small club on weekends. Our club raise funds to go to orphan children at Oasis of Hope Children Home in Mbita. I love helping orphans because my life I grew up as an orphan. Despite all I thank God my business is small but it serves people I didn't expect simply because I have been known as a good and honest man in the area.
I am now paying high school fee for my two siblings and I am able to meet my living costs comfortably
I have been in the business for more than two years now.I mainly make "chips" from irish potatoe and sell to the local, small fish "omena",avocados, vegetables and tomatoes.I sell chips mostly at lunch time to the Motor Cycle (taxi) riders, where I earn a good money as compared to other products which I sell only in the evening. If I am offered this loan i will use it to install solar ice powered cooler box to keep soft drinks cold, renovate my structure (kibanda) so that I may attract more and more customer to add revenue. This is where I get my daily bread and hope with good capital I will expand the business and attract more clients that will make me to break even..
A loan of KES 9,130 will enable me buy an ICE Box to keep my soft drinks like water, orange, mangoes, paw paw juice cold for sale to clients on long -term. I will add the KES 9,000 with my savings of 9,000 to buy the cooler at KES 18,000. I look forward to increasing my profit on a daily basis by 20% and be able to repay the loan on time using the increased income from my business. Let me take this earliest opportunity to thank ZIDISHA members for their support.
