My name is Njuguna Simon, a businessman based in Mombasa, Kenya. I am 23 years old having been born in a family of 7 where I am the 3rd born.
My parents live in upcountry where they engage in small scale businesses. I was born in brought up in Kenya's Rift Valley region and attended my school in the same region. I cleared my secondary education and later joined Jomo Kenyatta University where I graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
I later moved to Mombasa in search of greener pastures where I got a job as a sales manager in a local firm.
I also sell juice as a side business to supplement my income.
I have a fruit juice outlet in town where I extract and sell juice to clients. I source the fruits from a local market every day and then prepare juice using a blender.
I then package the juice into small bottles before selling. Mombasa has a very hot climate and demand for my product is quite high.
My monthly net income averages about $280 per month. I face some challenges in my business especially when my only blender breaks down. If given this credit from Zidisha, I would be able to buy a second blender which will ensure that my business will not be interrupted when one blender fails.
I run a juice parlor where I extract juice from seasonal fruits. I source my fruits from farmers and local markets and then extract the juice. Mombasa being a hot place, I am always assured of continuous flow of clients. The business is quite profitable and it sustains my family adequately. However, to increase efficiency, I need to invest in a second blender. This way I will not be interrupted when my only one breaks down. It will cost me about $150 to get a good quality blender (made in France). This is the exact amount that I am asking Zidisha to lend me. I promise to put this money into my business and pay promptly.
