About Me

My name is Rebecca Tia M. I am a married woman with two children, I come from kukuom in the asunafo south district of Ghana. My plan was to become a medical doctor but it failed when I git pregnant in my very first sexual act with the man who is currently my husband with whom i have two children now. My father had disown me because of the dissapointments i brought to the family. Eventually, my father passed away. I had no option than to accept a marriage proposal from the who had taken away my virginity and gotten me pregnant. In deed life was really hot during that moment.
When I realised that there was no hope, I tried to work for one supermarket here for about 5 years, my manager encourage me to start some business which I did. Now here I am.

My Business

I own a small supermarket which is closer to a school in my town. How I started this business and how far I have come is soely as a result of hard work, perseverance and the help of God. I was selling items on the road side when I truck nearly runed over me as a results of brakes failure. The insurance company gave me some compensation which I used it to open my supermarket. I have long dream of expanding my business to include basic home supplies.

Loan Proposal

I want a loan to buy basic home supplies into my supermarket. Items like cooking utensils, toiletries, and several others are in high demand in my town. People travel far distances mainly to buy those items.

Rebecca is ready to make payments now as she told me her self when I visited her yesterday in her store " I want to start repayment now by clearing all outstanding arrears without adjusting my installment " those were the exact words from Rebecca as we converse on her business. I told her how Zidisha is ever ready to support her in her business if she become regular in her payments.

I contacted Rebecca on her personal phone, she told me that recent business development compared her to travel outside the country to Togo. According to her, she told her husband to make payment on her behalf when it is due. But her husband is illiterate and doesn't know any thing about internet. That was why payment delayed. She promised to pay off all due loan repayment. She was indeed sorry for her missing her 100% record of on time loan repayment.

Please I want to reduce this because my shop is located beside a school that give me a lot of customers, but they are on vacation now, so I have to do this to maintain my on time payment. I will increase it when school re-opens. Now the loan has bring improvement to my business thanks to my lenders and zidisha team.
