My name is Amoah Janet . I come from Kojo Badukrom in the Western region of Ghana . I have four sibblings. I completed my basic school and Senior High education at Badukrom senior High School. Where I then further on to a vocational school.
After the vocation school, i should have furthered to a diploma course but there was not enough money to take the course.
i then started using the experienced i obtained from the vocational school by sewing dresses.
I have been through a lot in life to help raise my other siblings up to a better level of education. This made me to learn early; the skills of trading in order to help my mother take care of the family. Though things have not been so easy for us, but we have been able to manage it.
My business is selling of ladies dresses and clothes which i sew them myself. This business have help me a lot since i started.
I travel from my hometown to Accra the capital town of Ghana to purchase new types of clothes and materials into the shop.
My primary concern is the inability to raise the needed capital to expand the business to earn more income because i could see that i can do more than what i am doing now.
This business has fed for the family for all years since i started and I believe with support from Zidisha I will be able to expand the business where l will not travel to accra alone but also to Togo because goods there are very cheap. And gradually, i will get my own wholesale shop here.
I will use the loan to purchase additional raw materials, that is raw clothes, thread, needles etc. to enhance my business. Because now i have more customers and they always demand. Moreover christmas is just around the corner and people will sew more dresses for the festive season.
