About Me

My names are Ann Muthoni Muchunu. I hail from subukia in Nakuru County. i am a farmer dealing with various cash crops but I mainly plant tomatoes and beans. I am a christian and God fearing woman. I have gone through the 8.4.4 system of education and did not go past form four due to lack of funds. I am a proud mother of two girls. My husband, a farmer also assist me in any project that I come up with. This is meant to boost our income and thus helping us achieve our goal. I am also an active member of St. John's Catholic church youth and YCS. I like participating in social work.

My Business

I have been in farming business and recently with the massive crop failure, I was forced to diversify my business to incorporate an activity which was not dependent on rainfall or weather. This is meant to ensure that incase one area fails i will still have plan B. currently I have decided to start a shoes and clothing sales business. Happily its my mother who assist me in running the business and its doing very well.

Loan Proposal

With my third loan, I am requesting lenders for a loan to purchase pipes to use with the waterpump I bought with my second loan. Currently am having difficulties watering my tomatoes farm as am confined to a small area and this limits me from large scale farming. I usually water them using a horse pipe and when water volume is low. i am unable to water the entire plantation. The estimated cost of pipes for use in my farm is USD 200 and I will use the other amount to prepare the land and also buy pesticides. As we approach the dry periods of January to April, I want to ensure that I will not rely so much on rainfall which has become unpredictable in this area. Also I will venture on variety of other cash crops to boost my income.
