About Me

I am James Otieno Nyauke, I was born in 1982 in the island of Rusinga, Lake Victoria, Kenya. I was the 2nd born among 8 siblings in my mothers house, though my father was a polygamist and had other 7 children with my step mother, though the 3rd wife did not have a kid. I have lived in Mbita Sub County of Homa Bay County since I was born. My father was a fisherman while my mother was a fish monger. Being the 2nd born, life was unbearable and I had to drop from school after doing my eight grade due to lack of high school fee.

After dropping from school, I joined my father in his fishing business as we were raising money to feed our large family and take our siblings to school. Life was unbearable and I went through a very hard life.

I got married at the age of 23 and our marriage has been blessed with seven children. The 1st born is in class 4 and the last born in pre-school.

I come from fishing community that lives in the shores of Lake Victoria, men are fishermen while women are mainly fish mongers.

I love watching boat racing ,swimming, and making friends.

My Business

I am doing tree seedlings, fruits seedlings and crops selling. I do for sell fruit seedlings like grafted mangoes and oranges. Fruit seedlings are in high demand in Mbita as many palatial homes are coming up and they all needs fruits. Having assessed the market demands, I started the flowers and fruits plants farm one year ago using the KES 6,000 that I had saved. The business is doing very well and I need tools to enable me produce more fruit plants and meet the huge market demands. I look forward to getting help from ZIDISHA lenders to enable me expand the business rapidly as I remain faithful in repaying the loan.

Loan Proposal

My mixed, organic food farm is growing so fast, I need a loan of KES 10,025 in order to purchase fork jembe, water can, wheelbarrow and assorted seedlings for planting in the farm.

In the ongoing February - March rainy and planting season, the farm tools and assorted seedlings will enable me plant fruits and flowers for sale at a very good prices. I look forward to getting a loan funds from ZIDISHA to enable me meet the demands of the clients.
