My names are Maryline Wesonga. I was born and raised in western Kenya. I am the first born in our family . I went to kisoko girls secondary school and proceeded to maseno university for degree in education with IT,however i had to drop out of college because i could not afford to pay fees and my late dad who was ill by then really needed intensive care which consumed a lot of our already constrained income.
After deferring my studies , I could not just sit back and watch my mum and siblings struggle. i had no capital to start any business ,i decided to look for a teaching job in the nearby secondary school. I realized most of the students really needed extra coaching and that is when i thought of starting a couching business. I printed a few black and white ,papers advertising my job and within 2 days 15 students had shown interest. I talked to the school headteacher who allowed me to use one of the classes for my business in the evenings and at the weekend. so far the business is doing well with 40 students to handle in a week.
I love reading, giving motivational speeches and playing tennis during my free time.
I provide tuition services to students in my village both primary school and secondary school in mathematics, business studies and guidance and counseling.
My services are in demand because parents wants to give there children good education and since classrooms in public school are always congested there is need for extra coaching so that students get the best.
I choose these business because it required very little capital to start. I actually used $10 to buy chalk and charts for my students.
I spend $40 on teaching materials and my revenues in a month are $250.I use my profits to pay for my university fees and to support my parents and family.
Dear lenders,
I am requesting for a loan to help me buy reading materials and latest revision materials for my students. I would use the $60 to buy books for the students. These will help me provider better tuition for these students and help me get more students which will in turn increase my revenues. My dream is good education for all and I wish to thank you in advance for helping me achieve it.
