About Me

I am a male born in the year 1991 in a family of seven five sisters and a brother in Machakos county masinga district.Being from a poor a needy background life was not simple as i had to trek a distance of around 20 kilometers to my primary school despite all that i did well in my exams in 2005.I was admitted to high school which i struggled by working household chores at our neighbors homes in order to raise my school fees as well as for my siblings which also acted as a motivation for me to work hard in school so that i could alleviate chains of poverty in my family and well enough i passed my secondary exams and joined university which i am due to graduate this year.My hobby is playing football and i am a die hard fun of Manchester united in England and the community around likes meat as their favorite food.

My Business

I am in the sheep keeping business where i keep sheep for mutton purposes and wool for the clothing industry. I also buy and sell milk in my locality.I started the business in the year 2010 in order to cater for my university fees as well as pay fees for my younger siblings.i already have 10 sheep which i sheer for wool giving me around 20 dollars per sheep. After maturity i sell them to the butcheries at 60 dollars each having bought them at 35 dollars hence making a profit of 250 dollars within four months plus the sheering which i use as capital for my milk selling business. i buy milk at kshs 30 per litre and sell at 60 making a profit of kshs3000 for hundred litres.Owing to meat and milk being the staple food for our community there is a lot of demand which sometimes goes unmet due lack of capital. The costs involve buying young lambs, medical costs for the sheep and transport of milk to various destinations.I use the proceeds as p lough back to the business, paying my fees as well as that of my siblings.

Loan Proposal

I plan to but two dairy goats for my milk business at a cost of 100 dollars each and the rest will be used for medication. With the goats producing the milk i will not be buying but simply selling. This will increase the profits by 100 percent (Kshs3000) per day as the feeds are readily available. This will help me pay my fees and that of my siblings as well as meeting the ever increasing demand for milk and meat in my locality.
