About Me

My name is Ruth A Denge. I was born in Gembe East Location Mbita District Homa bay County, Kisumu City Kenya. I am a Luo by tribe, I am honest, competent and hardworking. I come from a very humble background. I reside in Lambwe Valley – Homabay county County. I am a born again Christian. I have three children and am a widow. I am a business woman and that’s what I use to feed from with my three children. My first born is in class seven, followed by a class five and lastly class two. The reason why I started this business was to look for something that would make move on with life rather than being a beggar with my orphans after the death of my beloved husband who passed away in the year 2012. The earnings I get most of the time go to food and stock to keep my business going.

My Business

As a businesswoman, I normally sell home basic needs like, kales,tomatoes, fried potatoes (chips) and grips . I have clients who do purchase the above mentioned items especially the kales/ vegetables as they are the mostly bought foods which are being eaten. My customers prefer my business because I normally sell my items at a cheaper rate unlike supermarkets and other points. The business is profitable because I have so many clients as I sell basic food which are mostly needed. Actually I have minimal risks as I have no problems with the authorities such as the County Council as I do pay weekly.
I always use my profit to feed my children as i do not have any other income generating activity other than this business of mine for that I do use the profit to pay for my children school fee and also save some money for later use and some for business expansion.

Loan Proposal

Hello dear lenders and Zidisha, I am seeking a loan of 9,134/= to enable me stock fruits and re-equip my business . I will be able to sale and attract more clients to my business and also expand it. Due to my planned expansion which will also help in increased profit which i will use to repay the loan and support my children education.

The loan of KES 9,143 will be used as follows;

-stoke potatoes at a cost of 4,800/= Stoke tomatoes at a cost of 2,500/= Transportation of goods from the market to home at a cost of 1000/=
-Stoking of kales/ vegetables which are highly perishable at a cost of 700/=

The increased sales and thus profits will help meet family expense, repay the loan on time and save to expand the business .
