About Me

I am Vincent Okello Odero, born in Nyanza part of Kenya.I started my primary level in 1995.On reaching class five,unfortunately i lost my dad and had only my mother left with.It really became so difficult for me as my dad was the one paying my fees.We were born many,a family of twelve children and i was the tenth born so education really was a challenge as my mother had little to offer for all of us.With God by my side, i managed to finish my primary level and joined secondary level despite all the difficulties.
I was able to complete my secondary level well but couldn't go on to college because there wasn't enough money to push me through college level.This is when i decided to venture into business so i started a small business in a street opposite city stadium near Burma market.I have had a couple of challenges in this business due to less capital.One of my biggest challenges is the sun as i sell my shoes in an open street where my shoes are exposed directly to the sun.With time, the shoes change color and begin to fade hence affects the price.I had about Zidisha from a good friend of mine and i decided to join and apply for the loan as it has helped people with businesses like mine.
I intend to build a small shelter for my shoes so that even if it takes long to sell them but i still have a good shoe to sell at a good price.

My Business

My business is all about shoes. I sell shoes on a street along Jogoo Rd opposite City stadium near Burma market.I started this business back then when i finished my high school level when there was no money for me to continue with college.I have really come from far as i only started with two shoes.
I now five years doing this business.During the five years, i have faced several challenges but kept going as nothing comes easy in life.I usually buy my shoes at the famous Gikomba market at a wholesale price and sell them at a price that will give me a profit.Gikomba market mostly deals with second hand goods so i sell second hand goods.
