About Me

I am Perez Auma, I am the 2nd born in a family of 5 (2 girls and 3 boys). My childhood life was full of hardships as my father died when I was still young and my mother being a peasant farmer could not manage to feed the large family and well and take us to school.

Getting school fee was indeed a dream. I had to do menial jobs to help supplement my mother income. I struggled and managed to complete primary education in 1992, but I did not continue to secondary education due to lack of High School fee.

Having not proceeded to High School, I eventually got married in 1995 and my husband was and is still a small - scale a fisherman with unpredictable income. With our ever enlarging family, I decided to start a small business of selling fresh fish to help in raising funds to meet family needs like food and education of our children. In my free time I do enjoy singing in Church and visiting friends and relatives.

My Business

I am engaged in fresh fish and grains retailing to the local community of Mbita which do experience food shortages annually. With my small business, I am serving upto 100 clients everyday buying essential food like; tomatoes, onions, grains, beans and maize.

With a 2nd loan of Ksh 22,068, I will be able to increase my fresh fish stock and re-sale the fish at a very good price to clients, this will enable me to get increased income to meet my family needs and education fee costs for my two children in High School.

With this loan, I will be able to get a profit of Ksh 2,400 weekly and comfortably re-pay Ksh 1,500 on a weekly basis.

Loan Proposal

I am grateful to ZIDISHA Lenders for the 1st Loan of KES 9,134 that enabled me to expand my business. The loan made my business profitable and I was able to help my family with their food and education needs.

I will use my 2nd loan of KES 22,068 to buy more fish (Tilapia) for re-selling at a very good prices. With a good stock of fresh fish, I will ensure that my clients gets fresh fish on time and on a daily basis. The increased profit of 30% will be of immense help and my children will be able to continue with their education uninterrupted since the projected profit increase of 30% will help me repay the loan on time and seek more to help me expand the business to accommodate the market demand.
