My name is Joseph Aguk. I am the 1st born in a family of three. We are two boys and one girl, my parents died while we were very young. Currently, I stay in Mbita. I sale household items, the business is helping me to educate my children after having educated my siblings. I have realized that I can concentrate and expand this business to satisfy my clients who are curious about my progress. I use the earnings of my business to expand the business- but have not been able to achieve that as I have planned because of financial constraints. I will like to use my leisure time to read books and articles about business particular 'food retail' business and also to search and know more about the wonderful help ZIDISHA is offering to Africa.
I am determined and passionate about my dream and the help I have for my current Mbita community . With your assistance I will be able to build my business and more importantly serve the many clients in my community.
AgukJose Households Enterprises is the name of my business. It was established in June 1995. My detergents and households items selling business is located in front of my house. At the moment I sell cleaning detergents, soap, utensils, plastics and watercans to students and workers who pass by to go to work and school every morning and after work and school. My business is a lucrative business because just with KES 50 or less one can purchase detergents enough of serving a family for one week. School children especially rush to purchase detergents because of the low price. Unlike sophisticated soaps which requires relatively more and expensive goods to prepare, detergents are easy to prepare, less expensive and can be prepared quicker.
Based on the cost involved and the high demand for it, this business is profitable as compared to other businesses in the same line. Considering risks involved in my business; electrical faults, power outage and increase in the price of chemicals or its shortage can inhibit the progress of my business. In a month, all things being equal I am able make profit of KES 12,000. But this profit margin mostly decrease when some of the crisis stated above occur.
I am determined to build and sustain any level of progress my business will achieve. I believe this will happen with your kind help. Thank you
I am seeking a 3rd progressive loan of KES 36,104. I will use this loan to increase my stock of household supplies like; plastics plates, chairs, basins, jugs, utensils stands, metallic spoons and several other loan appliances for my business. I am diligent in meeting my obligations and I will repay back the loan in time so that I can access more funds for rapid business expansion. The location of the business is a very good place at the center of Mbita market and thousands of people access the market on a weekly basis, my business is strategically located too.
