About Me

My name is Georginah Anami Mutsotso , I was born and raised in kakakamega county, before I migrated to Busia County. I am the sixth born in my family. We are 8 kids. I went to Mukumu Primary School before proceeding to Mukumu Girls Secondary school. I passed well and proceeded to makerere University for a degree in Economics.
I looked for a job for 3 years and no job seemed to come around, due to high cost of living I decided to do commercial farming to help me raise revenue. With no land to till, I talked to a neighbor who had large truck of land, he agreed to lease me some land near the river and since then I have never looked back. I am a rising star in agriculture.
I come from a bull fighting community, it is always very interesting and I love watching this. Welcome to our land for this great and amazing culture.
My hobbies are watching bull fighting live, watching movies and walking around my tomato farm pruning.

My Business

I am a high value horticultural crop farmer. I always grow kales and tomatoes as the main crops. I prefer these two crops because the demand is high .
The demand for this crops is always very high because the supply is low, the majority of youths doesn't take farming as employment and therefore production is very low.
I choose this business because as an economist I was able to identify the opportunity that existed in this area.
In a month I spend $120 on manure and pesticides, my revenue average is $250-$600 depending on the season. In a good month my profit range is $200.
I use my profits to pay fees for my siblings, pay for my bills and also pay fees for an orphan child my parents adopted.

Loan Proposal

The loan will boost my agricultural produce where by I will add my personal savings to the loan of 428.8$ if granted by Zidisha and buy a second motorcycle. This will enable good transportation at wide range in different market areas
The second Motorbike will also be used to transport my kales and tomatoes to various markets and boarding schools hence this will Contribute to efficiency and time management in my businesses.
The second Motorbike will also solve one of my challenges in this business Which is Poor infrustructure and delay in delivery of my goods
My goods will also be in good condition and not get damaged while being transported to various markets. At the end this will Contribute to higher returns hence expanding my businesses.
