About Me

Am Emmanuel wafula from Namakhele village in Tongaren. Am a 54 year man with a family who keeps dairy cattle and grows sugarcane. I also keep a few beef cattle though dairy cattle do better due to high demand of milk. Finally I stopped my education at secondary level because I could not afford high fees charged at the university level. My performance in KCSE exam was marvelous but university fee was a big barrier. However I never gave up in life. I married, started sugarcane growing, added more livestock and brought up my children without any hustle.

My Business

I grow sugar cane and keep livestock for milk production. I started of with one cow even before marriage and this cow took me to where I am today. It is this one cow that enabled me coonect with West kenya sugarcane company brokers, bought enough sugarcane buds, grew them and now am about to harvest for the tenth time since I started sugarcane growing. I chose sugarcane growing because sugarcane companies demand it to process sugar. The only disadvantage with this kind of farming is that it takes ages to mature. I have to be patient for 18months before I think of harvesting my sugarcane. The profit is huge and it enables me do a lot with it including but not limited to :
Payment of school fees
Buying more cattle
home improvement and so on.

Loan Proposal

Am harvesting sugarcane soon and as usual I must hire workers due to large size of farm and hence big workload. At a time like this many sugarcane farmers find it hard to get these workers in plenty because almost every worker is engaged in different fields. I therefore wish to inform them in advance so that they are not booked elsewhere so that the tractors from sugar company arrive to ferry sugarcane when am through with harvested maize. in total I need 40 dollars to pay workers and 20dollars to pay as transportation fees to the sugar factory.
