About Me

I am a Kenyan citizen born and raised in Nakuru, Suswa area. I am a mother of two daughters, one has already completed high school and is in business while the last born is in primary school. I am a go getter and always believe in hard work. This is something I learnt in our early life as it was instilled to us by our parents.I am a farner on both livestock farming and crop farming. On livestock i do zero grazing for cows and in crop farming i do irrigation farming since my area if not fully supplied in rain and most we relay on boreholes and river. I have also chickens and pets like cat and dog. Am a hardworking lady and do not relay on my husband so i get use of the land i have to cater for my needs. My farming has been of help since it has helped me and my husband to be able to educate my two daughter and cater for basic needs. I have donkeys which help me transport my goods to the market. I am a christian and believe in power of God. I do work hard always knowing that things can change for the better. Given an opportunity I believe that I can achieve my plans.

My Business

I do farming, particularly livestock farming where i keep cows, sheeps, goats and and also keep chicken and ducks and crop farming i plant short term vegetables and sell them here and in subukia town . This is a very harsh place and farming of cash crops don't do well as the place is extremely dry and only rely on rainfall as opposed to irrigation. The World vision has a program to support farmers in doing irrigation partculary on the dry spells, currently we have been provided with plastic tanks and water connection from uphill which is ensuring water supply though not n abundance. Due to that challenge I have dig a water hole which is providing water for my plants and animal and also for general house use when the water project is not working. The water has been used to help in farming of cash crops that take short period to mature. Currently I am engaged in cash crop farming, have been planting Kales and cabbages and use irrigation method during dry spell. I am also planning to build a greenhouse which will help me in my vegetable planting as water will not be used a lot and will be able to manage it closely. Am proud of the farming I do because it has helped me and my family. I also save fertilizer buying as the animals provide me with manure which assist in my farm crops.

Loan Proposal

Thank you for this opportunity, I would like to request you grant me second loan that I will ivest on cow feed, this has been occassioned by the fact that the rains are not reliable and the mik production has gone down. Prices of milk has shot the highest this year with 1kg going for USD 1, this despite the very low supply at the moment, with adequate feeds, there will be increase in milk production and this will increase my income. I project to use about USD 150 for buying ready feeds and similar amount in planting of other feed crops.
