About Me

I am Agnes Auma, I was born in 1986 in Ndhiwa Sub County of Homa Bay County in the republic of Kenya, I am Mbita Township, Kenya. I was the 3rd born among 7 siblings. I did not manage to complete my high school education due to early pregnancy.

Having failed to continue with my education, I resorted to grains selling business in order to get money to feed and take care of my daughter. Being an orphan and the fact that I did not completed high school has hurted me to date. I begun a small groceries selling business in 2011 to enable me raise money to support my family as my husband is unemployed too. The business is doing very well, though I encountered some difficulties at the start of the business but now I am growing stable in the business. I am optimistic that with the right associations and low interest loaning platforms like ZIDISHA, I will be able to grow my business .

In my free time, I do sing in Church choir and visit the sick.

My Business

I am trading on fresh green vegetables like cabbages, kales, tomatoes, onions and maize (corn). Many people do visit my business to buy food products. I also cook deep fried buns (Mandazis )from Wheat Flour and sell to school children and neighbourhood families.

The type of buns am cooking is delicious and I have built a very strong network of clients that comes to my business regularly to buy the buns for breakfast and light lunch meals. I am happy am able to contribute in people's lives especially children positively.

I am confident that my business will grow and with the strong partnership of ZIDISHA lenders, I am seeking a loan of US$50 to enable me renovate my food kiosk and make it a safe and healthy environment for food preparation and selling. I will use the loan to renovate my structure(shop) so that I may attract more and more customers to add revenue. This is where I get my daily bread and hope with good capital I will expand.

Loan Proposal

With a loan of Ksh 1,500, I will be able to use the loan as follows;

-$20 i will used to stock 1 bag of wheat flour. Because this my main raw material which I should have always have in store.Thank will be enough for me to make Mandazis for 2 weeks.This will have big benefit because will buy in bulk hence given discount.With discount the profit will increase by atleast 30%

Kindly lend me because by doing so you will add my profit by 20% hence my living standard will be improved.Thank you
