About Me

My name is David Ambundo . I went to Eshibuli primary school and Eshibuli secondary school. I am the third born in a family of 5.Both my parents passed on when I was still in primary school and have been living with paternal aunt who educated us ,and gave me everything ,I required in life.
After completing my secondary education I joined kenya utalii college ,I graduated with a diploma in catering. While working in some hotel ,along moi avenue Nairobi, that used to serve turkeys,I noticed the demand for turkeys was very high yet the supply was very minimal. That is when I decided to quite my not paying well job to venture into turkey farming.
I started the businees in 2012,only with two turkeys ,they have since multiplied to 18,turkeys. turkey farming is really a good business because of high returns.
I have two children who attend a local primary school ,they are yet to really decided what they want to do in life when they grow up because they are still very young.

My Business

My business is turkey keeping, I sell fertilized eggs , and turkeys both for keeping and slaughtering.
Turkey business is not popular in western Kenya and that is why the demand is high because most people have realized keeping turkeys is a good business, the demand is thus very high due to high number of farmers buying them for keeping. I always get orders when the turkey is still brooding.
In a good month I sell four young turkeys at $40 each, and fertilized eggs.my revenues are about $200 in a month. My expenses average at $90.
I use my profits to pay school fees for my young brother in hey school as well as my kids. I also do so savings to put back to my business.

Loan Proposal

I thank zidisha for granting me this opportunity. My name is David Ambundo,i am requesting for a loan to buy one male turkey to avoid inbreeding. Inbreeding has resulted into weak chicks that die in the first 4 weeks resulting to heavy losses. The government extension officer advised me to get a male turkey for breeding.A mature male turkey goes at $110 ,I would really appreciate your support.
