About Me

I am Millicent Anyango, I was born in 1984 and brought up in rural village of Kanyada in Homa Bay County. I was born the 1st born in a family of two boys and two girls. I am a mother of four children and married.

My parent's were loving, caring though very poor as they were practising peasant farming. I grew up helping my parents to bring up my siblings. Having completed my high school, I got married and marriage life was not easy, since my husband didn't have gainful employment so I had to start a small business to help in meeting the family financial needs especially education of our children.

Mbita community is a loving and caring society. Women are encouraged to support their spouses. I like helping the needy in society through associations in my free time.

My Business

My business entails selling of all types of clothes like men's wear, ladies wear and children wear i also sell mattresses among others. I choose this business since Kenyan people are fashionable and like spending much money in design wear. This business will always be on demand because people cannot live without clothing which is a basic human need. I buy my stock from manufacturers and suppliers who give me at very minimal cost because of purchasing in bulk. This has enabled me sell to my customers at a very affordable price and hence conquering my competitors who sell them very expensive.

The quality of my clothes, competitive price and good customer care has made customers to flock in my business daily and has contributed much in rising of my profit margin everyday. I re-invest my profit to business, part paying school fees and meeting house hold needs while the rest is saved for future projects.

Loan Proposal

I am seeking a loan of KES 9,130 to help me increase my stock of clothes and introduce a new line of clothes; school uniforms, wears, shoes and kids clothes. I only sell adult clothes. Most of my clients require kids clothes since most of them have families with small kids. I do not have funds for these new clothes in high demand hence the reason for seeking a loan to help me purchase them for re-sale.

With the new capital injection in my business, my weekly profit margin will increase by 30% and the increased amount will be used to meet the school fee for my 1st born who is sitting for his final primary education exams in November 2015 and food costs for my family. I will repay the loan on time and seek more loans in future inorder to expand the business and meet the market demands.
