About Me

my name is Edwin Kipruto. My home town is Eldoret where i stay with my family, wife and three children that is. I grew up in Eldoret town with my family. my parents were poor but they managed to put me through primary and secondary eduction. i have six siblings, i am the second born in a family of seven children. I have two brothers and four sisters. I went to Soi primary school in Soi village. It was the best government school around at the time. I was a good student and the eight years of primary schooling was smooth for me. I passed with flying colours and i managed to be admitted to Kitale high school. this is when all my problems started, first i did not even have transport to get me to school during the reporting date. we held a fund raising in our village to raise my transport, fee and money to buy books and other school requirements like school uniform. i managed to start my secondary education well and i really worked hard. i applied loan and bursaries to aide in my fees. i did that successfully until my form three when all support from the bursaries were withdrawn and i got stuck. i had to drop out of school and i did not do my final year of studies. i decided that i would use the little knowledge that i got from my half schooling and look for any job that would earn me income. i was so determined to get a good job so that i could support my other siblings in school because i did not want them to miss out on education like me. i got a job at a car wash in Eldoret where i have been patient and hardworking until now and i am able to support my wife and children.

My Business

when i got the job in the car wash, i did not like it at first, but i had no otherwise because i needed money and i had the pain of dropping out of school because of luck of money. this motivated and pushed me to work hard. i worked at the car wash for seven years and during that time i saved enough money for building my own house where i married and started my family as it is supposed to be in my traditions. after that, i started saving now for improving my job and to start my own car wash and even more. at the car wash, we clean cars, motorbikes, carpets and any other vehicle. i feel complete in my work as i do it with passion, cleanliness is my thing. and i like maintaining cars, that is how i will take care of mine if i buy one. i like interacting with my clients, getting words of wisdom and encouragements that make me grow and keep me going. washing cars is necessary because everyone wants a clean, well maintained and kept car. we offer the best services around and we are well recognized in Eldoret town for our good work. i chose this business because it was perfect for me because i did not have papers for applying an office job. i found job vacancy in the car wash and i did not have much choice but to work there if i wanted money. i grew to love my job because it inspires me to work hard and to want more, it shows me that there is still a long way for me. i earn a total of 30 us dollars in a bad day of work and up to 50 us dollars on a fairly good day. i save 20 Us dollars everyday and i have been saving for four and a half years now. the rest, i use to buy daily food for my family and to pay for fees for my children.

Loan Proposal

if granted a loan of 50 Us dollars, i will add some saving of 50 Us dollars and use the total that is 100 Us dollars to start my own car wash. I have acquired already the washing machine, tanks for water storage and other small things facilitating the washing. Therefore with the loan, i will be able to kick start my business by leasing a place for the business and also acquire a permit.
I expect to raise my profits to 70 Us dollars each day
