About Me

My name is Kossonou Yao, i come from a small town in the Ashanti region of Ghana called Mampong. i am from a family of three children of which i am the eldest. i am a married man with three kids. i went to Kumaca senior high school to attain my Senior high school certificate. i also went to Garden city Univesity to attain my Degree in Business studies certificate. i am now living in Kumasi Breman, i started poultry farming in the year 2004 which i did not find it easy and passed through some hardship and with this hardship i continued to do the farming .My profits allow me to better support the needs of my family . Always learning new methods about my profession is my favorite sport.

My Business

My business is poultry farming . there is a high demand for birds and eggs, i have the competitive advantage over the others but since i have less equipments and low income to purchase the required medicine i am only able to rear a few. i provide my town with quality birds and eggs and also i employed two workers initially but to cut down cost i have maintained only one for the mean time . i chose this business because its my passion and i love doing it. My typical cost is the feed and i use the profit i gain to support my children tuition fees and also use some to take care of my family. i also reinvest in growing the poultry farming. i plead the Zidisha lenders to come to my aid so that i can continue this business in order to support my family, since i'm the bread winner.thank you.

Loan Proposal

As the adage goes that don’t put all your eggs in one basket, and it was once stated at Zidisha Blog, I have been searching and planning on another project I can add to my poultry business. A friend and a member of Zidisha introduced me to Mushroom Production. I have learn about it on internet and have visited a mushroom production center. The center is at Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. It is the mushroom production center for the whole West Africa with sponsorship from USDA and others. I have taken time to learn how it is done, where to get materials etc.
I am now interested in it and want to add it to my poultry business but it needs capital. I am now seeking for another loan of $2920 .00 so that I can start the production. If I am able to start it, it will raise my income level, create job for others and provide food for many. Speaking of the quick financial profitability of mushroom someone said :( this is a hot cake. Another to add is a fast food.)
