About Me

I am Benedicta Mansa Afriyie, a 22-year-old lady who loves entrepreneurship and believes in self-employment. I Ekumfi Ameyaw senior high school in the region of Ghana. During and after senior high school, I helped my mother in her business of selling agro-chemicals, which aided me in the payment of my school fees. I hail from Badu but now resides at Nsawkaw which are both in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. Nsawkaw is mainly a farming community where the most commodities farmers deal in are cashew, maize, yam, groundnut, pepper and the like. Because of this, my mother opened up a small agro-chemical shop which the farmers usually patronize to use in their farms. I hail from a family of 8 and I am the second born. My father is a vertinary officer and my mother is a petty trader. Both also engage in farming which supports them in their quest to give us better education.

My Business

I am into the business of selling agro-chemicals. Some items that are sold at the shop are weedicides such as sarostrate, sunphostrate. We also deal in ammonia, fertilizer, urea. Aside that we also deal in the sale of maize seeds, pepper seeds, carrots, green pepper seeds. The prices of the weedicides range around 130 GHS per box and this contains 12 bottles of the weedicides. At the end, one box is sold at 150GHS. This implies that there will be a profit of 20GHS. The maize is bought at 6GHS per kilo and and sold at 8GHS. The pepper seed is bought at 10GHS per milk tin and sold at 15GHS. This all implies that there is something little that we get from the sales of these items. Initially that we started this business, sales was very good until things went a little bad that my mother lost interest in the business. I have therefore decided to revive this business since it is a very lucrative venture. I believe by the help of Zidisha, I will be able to accomplish this task. Thank you.

Loan Proposal

I would like to apply for this loan to buy more agrochemicals to stock my shop. As I said my town is a farming community and the demand for agrochemicals and farm seeds constantly increases. Funding this loan will therefore help me meet the demand of my lenders. I promise to abide by all rules and regulations governing this firm. Thank you.
