My name is Joyce Owusuaa. I come from Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region. I was born on the 27th of January 1989 in Berekum. We are four in our family, my mother, father, my brother and myself.
I started my basic education at Berekum Methodist JHS, completed and continued at Our Lady of Providence at Drobo in the Brong Ahafo Region. After completing, I continued at Berekum College of Education. I am now in my final year and doing my service at St. Monica's Basic School.
I developed an interest in sewing when I was about to complete my senior high school, when our madam taught us sewing as a subject. I started my own fashion clothing centre in the year 2012.
I joined a fashion designer in my area in the year 2011 to learn more about fashioning. I started my own fashion clothing centre in the year 2012 with a base capital of 850 dollars. I was given a storeroom in my father's house to start my own centre. I started my own fashion clothing with two sewing machines with no apprentices.
After being in the business for about six months, it came to my notice that the people in Berekum had developed an interest in my designs. I then started to distribute my designs to some market people who sells clothes. I got two people who have also got interest to learn the designs, so I employed them.
Now, I have two stores with seven assistants who are learning to become designers. I look up to expanding my centres to get additional two or three to be able to employ more people to learn sewing. I estimate about 4,000 dollars for my expansion work.
REPAYMENT
I will be able to repay any loan offered me from the sale of the clothes or designs.
i am going to use the loan to purchase materials which will help me to make more designs to attract more customers. a bundle of cloth cost 40 dollars and also new machines to make me more faster in my design making. this will help me to help people who are interest in learning the design so that they can get work to do in future. this is going to help me to increase my profit margin and also help me more on in life. may God help all my lenders in raising this loan and i promise to pay any amount given to me from the sales of my designs. thank you all.
