About Me

I was born in a rural town in Kenya called Machakos. I spent most of my early childhood observing my grandparents as they did farming, though at that time most it was mostly subsistence farming. It's from this that I grew to love farming. Even after moving to the city, I still had that passion. That is why I took on farming as a hobby and eventually I have turned it into a money making venture.

I'm an information system administrator in the hospitality industry. In this role,
I'm tasked with assisting the IT manager in the provision of IT services for the hotel and the deployment of IT department requirements. I'm a qualified Computer technician and hold a diploma in computing from NCC education level 4 (QCF).

My Business

At the moment, I'm doing horticulture farming i.e., tomatoes and corianders as well as maize farming. Basically, I farm anything which is in the season and which has the prospect of giving me a good return. Initially, I was doing this as a hobby but after seeing that it gives good returns, I turned it into a business. Currently, I have employed several people who are managing my rented farms as I don't do it full time.
Most of the profits I get from the business I have invested back into it by expanding the size of the farm I rent and buying machinery I need. At the moment I'm saving money so that I can buy my own land.

Loan Proposal

I want to start buying maize as this is this season of maize harvesting i want to buy maize so that i can store them and sell them once maize price improve. the maize i intend buy from Laikipia area where Maize is in plenty and at the moment the price is low. when i buy the maize I will sell it around February when the price is expected to improve.

With The just completed project i used the funds to increase my stock in my farm and with current drought that is currently being experienced, I used the rest to buy feeds and water. My tomato farm is not performing well also due to water shortage. With this fund i plan to make small water pan and drill a bore hole.
